A family owned Agricultural Farm and also a very secluded Agriturismo, located in southern Sicily 5 min from the small town of Palma di Montechiaro where the castle of Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa is located and where he drew inspiration to write his masterpiece “The Leopard”, “Il Gattopardo”. And very close to some of Sicily’s most outstanding cultural and important archeological sites! Like Temples Valley and Selinunte, within easy reach also of the Roman mosaics of Villa del Casale at Piazza Armerina and Caltagirone known for its local majolica and pottery, is also conveniently located not far from the beautiful Baroque towns of Ragusa (1h 50min), Modica(2h) and Noto and least but not last not far from the stunning beaches of white sands like Eraclea Minoa or Scala dei Turchi an imposing white giant stair like limestone formation.
The family has renovated the farm in a simple but truly very unusual elegance and good taste and still bears the suggestive typical Sicilian architecture with ancient majolica tiles in some rooms. Quietly located inland nestled and surrounded from their magnificent olive grove of about 10.000 trees, and other exotic trees, cactuses and Jasmine flowers! Mandranova is a true heaven and this is where the family De Vincenzo lives and have been producing quality award world winning olive oils that equals only to grand wine production!
Every single stage of the production is being carefully thought out from the caring of the trees to very early harvest when the olives are the optimum stage of the veraison, to obtain olive oils not only rich with the highest Polyphenols contents but pure with the most outstanding aroma and taste, holding the total control of the production in their state of the art milling facility to the every single stage to the bottling and labeling.
The farm only produces monovarietal olive oils. This to enhance the different characteristic between each cultivar. The same way we commonly do with precious “single malt” estate Whisky.
